Wild Birds Photo of Southeast Asia

Bird photography is a growing pass time for the many urban professionals like me in Singapore and the other parts of Southeast Asia. Many rare bird sightings or photos were recorded by these weekend birders. This gallery serves to catalogue the birds I have photographed as well as a resource to others who are keen in birds and bird photography. Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I do...... Cheers, Ivor

Birds of Singapore

Birds of Singapore has been studied and documented since Sir Stamford Raffles stepped onto its shore. Perhaps there were more species of bird then but birding in Singapore today is still very challenging with half of the 350 officially recorded species are either uncommon, rare or vagrant.

Birds of Thailand

Besides food, Thailand has another major attraction. It is the best birding ground in Southeast Asia. One will be spoilt for choice in both the food and bird species. The national parks here are well managed and easily accessible. It is my favorite country to bird watching.

Birds of The Philippines

Over 180 species of bird found in the Philippines are endemic. If you wish to tick the highest number of lifers on a single birding trip, a visit to the Philippines is a sureway of realising it.

Birds of Malaysia

When the new birders of Singapore have become familiar with the local birds, across the causeway north of the Island is usually their next venue of birding adventure. Some of the species that have become extinct in Singapore can be found here in abundance.
